The northern end of Hawley Beach (T 1159) commences in lee of Fishpond Rocks and curves slightly as it trends to the south for 500 m to a cluster of rock and boulders that separate it from the main beach. Sand flats extend 250 m offshore in the north linking to Fishpond Rocks, narrowing to about 200 m in the south, where rock flats fringe the bordering rocks. It is backed by a fringe of low scrubs, then Hawley Beach Road with a few houses in lee of the southern rocks.
