Beach 22 is located on the western side of Musselroe Point 300 m north of the inlet. It is a 200 m long west-facing beach exposed to the prevailing westerly winds and wind waves. These maintain a low tide terrace beach bordered by the granite boulders of the point, the boulders continuing all the way around the point, in places backed by a high tide strip of sand. The beach is backed by vegetated parabolic dunes that cross the 500 m wide point to beaches 23 and 24.
