Stinking Cove lies in the northwestern corner of the bay at the mouth of Gathercoles Creek. This is a 300 m long low energy reflective beach (T 312) that faces south-southwest down the bay towards the entrance, 10 km to the south. The creek crosses towards the western end of the beach, with a forestry track off the Fortescue Road, terminating at the western end of the beach.
