Sloping Main beach (T 340) is a curving 3.5 km long low energy west-facing beach located in the 3 km wide bay bounded by Black Jack Point and the northern Lobster Point. The beach receives low refracted waves, which average about 0.5 m at the shore and maintain a white sand reflective beach, usually lined with cusps. The beach is backed by a series of low foredune ridges which widen to 200 m in the north then the 200 ha Burdens Marshes, a partly drained wetland, which drains out at the very northern end of the beach. The small Gwandalan settlement is located at the very southern end of the beach, with a road and beachfront houses also backing the first 1 km of the beach.
