Rush Lagoon is located at the northern end of west-facing Crooked Billet Bay, 1 km south of Low Point. The small 2 ha lagoon is fed by Rat Creek and impounded in lee of a curving 200 m long southwest-facing boulder beach (T 326), set at the apex of the small V-shaped bay. A left-hand surf break, known as Kelpies, runs along the southern point. Waves average over 1 m with higher waves required to produce a good break. The beach can only be accessed on foot across farmland from the end of the Noyes Road.
