Beach T 779 is located 1.5 km north of the track and consists of a 350 m long sandy beach, bordered by rock platforms with rocks outcropping along the beach together with a prominent central reef and foreland. A small creek drains across the southern half of the beach. The 100 m wide surf zone contains both a sand bar and the reefs, with permanent rips located either side of the central reef. Beach T 780 lies 200 m further north and is a similar 300 m long rock-bordered beach, with rocky shore dominating the southern half of the beach and a creek draining across the northern end of the rocks. Reefs lie up to 200 m offshore of the northern half, with a bar between the reefs and shore (Fig. 4.152). Waves average over 1.5 m on the outer reefs, with variable wave height along the shore. Both beaches are backed by a climbing partly unstable foredune, with three climbing blowouts along beach T 779 and a large blowout at the creek on the northern beach. Older well vegetated dunes extend up to 1 km inland and reach 90 m in height.
