Beach T 791 is located between the breakwater and Macquarie Heads. It is a 100 m long north-facing reflective beach that is sheltered by the breakwater and the Kawatiri Shoal. These are tidal sand shoals that extend 1 km north of Hells Gate and dominate the shallow 500 m wide entrance to the harbour. The beach is bordered by the sloping rocks of Macquarie Heads, with a vehicle track running across the slopes to the harbour entrance.
