Beach T 1171 commences 50 m to the east and is a slightly curving 150 m long high tide cobble beach, with a central sandy section. It has a few rock outcrops along the beach and scattered reefs extending off either end. It is backed by slopes rising more gradually to 50 m, with a walking track following a small valley to the centre of the beach. Beach T 1172 commences at a rock-tied inflection in the shore and continues to the northeast for another 150 m as a relatively straight high tide sand and cobble beach, fronted by shallow intertidal rock flats.
