Greens Beach (T 1176) is a low energy 1.9 km long beach that commences in lee of the base of West Head and curves to the east, then northeast to the low reef-tied Friend Point. Low refracted westerly waves reach the moderately steep beach and maintain a low gradient high tide beach grading into a 50-100 m wide low tide terrace. The western half of the beach is backed by a narrow vegetated reserve, then a row of houses, camping area and a golf course, all located on a 500 m wide series of up to 25 low beach-foredune ridges (Fig. 4.264).
