On the south-western tip of Cape Woolamai is a small, 60 m long pocket sand beach (187), backed by steep, 40 m high bluffs and bordered by similar headlands. Around the western headland the sand continues below the bluffs, that gradually decrease in height toward Woolamai Beach. Rock reefs lie off the beach, resulting in a crenulate shoreline with reef breaks, called Magic Lands. At the western end are two low headlands that border a 50 m long pocket beach, and form the boundary with the main Woolamai Surf Beach. All three beaches are only accessible by foot from Woolamai Surf Life Saving Club. Reefs, rocks and headlands protect the first beach (187), resulting in low waves and a steep, barless beach. The Magic Lands Beaches (188, 189) receive waves averaging 1.8 m which, while breaking on the reefs, induce strong, permanent rips in between and against the headlands. read more
