Fishermans Beach is located in lee of Linley Point. The Esplanade runs on 20 m high bluffs right behind the beach. Between the road and beach is a narrow foreshore reserve, with a seawall at the base of the bluffs and a few boat sheds on the beach. A car park has been built at the base of Linley Point, which also provides access to a double boat ramp.
The point only affords slight protection and the north-west facing beach receives sufficient wave energy during strong westerlies to build a one to two bar system. This is usually cut by rips at each end and one central rip. The rips are only active when waves are breaking.
Beach Length: 0.55km
