Between Shoreham and Flinders, the coast trends south-south-west and consists of steep, 20 to 40 m high, grassy bluffs. The bluffs are fronted by 100 m wide intertidal reef flats, with a series of narrow, sandy, high tide beaches. The first four beaches are all backed by private farmland, and public access is by foot along the shoreline.Pines Beach is 1.2 km long, backed by bluffs and fronted by the reef flat that narrows toward the centre. Beach 240 is similar, but only 400 m long; while 800 m long Musk or Manton Creek Beach has lower bluffs, with the creek crossing the centre of the beach. Mornington Park Beach has high bluffs, with an 80 m wide, low dune between the bluffs and the beach, and 300 m wide reef flats.

Swimming

All these beaches have wide, exposed, continuous reef flats at low tide, so bathing is best at mid to high tide.

Surfing

None unless there is a very large swell; then a series of reef breaks begins working. These include one at Pines Beach, then The Farm at the mouth of Musk Creek, and finally Lefts and Rights off Mornington Park Beach.

Fishing

Better at high tide when the reef flats are covered.

General

Four relatively remote beaches backed by private property. They are only accessible from Shoreham Beach in the north, and by foot along the shore.
