Beach K 78 commences on the eastern side of the high bluffs and extends east for 2.5 km to 20 m high Bell Point, where a vehicle track terminates at two blufftop houses. The beach curves round and faces generally northwest. It is for the most part backed by scarped red 20-30 m high eroding bluffs, capped by dense woodlands. The beach consists of a relatively narrow 50 m wide strip of high tide sand at the base of the bluffs, fronted by intertidal sandstone rock flats and patches of sand.
