Beach K 44 commences in its lee and trends roughly northeast for 5.1 km to the mouth of Camp Inlet. The beach is dominated by the rock reef and the tidal shoals of the inlet, which extend up to 3 km off the northern end of the beach. The entire beach is backed by active sand dunes, then the mangroves of the inlet. The inlet is 3,000 ha in area and dominated by bare intertidal sand flats and scattered sections of mangroves.
