Beach K 142 commences 700 m south of Carlisle Head. It is a straight 1.4 km long high tide sand beach, fronted by a 100 m wide strip of sand, then 500 m wide reef flats (Fig. 4.23). It is backed by red bluffs rising to 20 m at either end, with a solitary house located on the northern bluffs and a minor area of dune activity in a central low point in the bluffs.
