Beach K 84 is a curving 7.5 km long northwest-facing beach, located in lee of the beachrock arms of Lombadina Point in the south and Chile Head to the north, the two connected by submerged and partly submerged continuous reef. The 1,500 ha embayment is largely filled with intertidal sand flats, with deeper water only adjacent to the entrance. Three mangrove-lined creeks - Lombadina, an unnamed creek and Chile Creek - and their tidal shoals enter the bay in lee of their respective headlands, with the beach strung between the two creek mouths. The beach consists of a high tide beach fronted by the sand flats that are 2 km wide in the centre, grading to tidal shoals towards the creek mouths. It is backed by active dunes extending up to 1 km inland and older vegetated dunes and a transgressive dune ridge extending 1-2 km inland and reaching heights of 35 m.
Beach Length: 7.5km
