There is a total of seven beaches along the more exposed eastern side of the point (Fig. 4.22). All the beaches face east into the trade winds and a small foredune backs each. The northern four beaches (K 132, 133, 134 and 135) are 150 m, 350 m, 200 m and 250 m long respectively and are bordered by cliffed sandstone headlands and surrounding boulder fields, with a continuous 200 m wide fringing reef growing between the headlands. Because of the rocks and reef the beaches tend to narrow towards low tide. The beaches are relatively steep, with beachrock boulders scattered along the lower beach face, and bedrock outcrops on beaches K 133 and 134. They are all backed by spinifex-covered foredunes rising up to 5 m.
