Low Sandy Point forms the northern boundary to the creek. It is a curving bedrock-controlled point that faces southwest at the creek mouth and then curves round to trend northeast for a total of 9.3 km. The entire point and beach (K 43) are backed by extensive older and active sand dunes, reaching up to 2 km inland. The beach is bordered by rock flats and reefs at either end, with some patches of rock flats also paralleling the beach. It terminates at a shore-parallel section of beachrock, with a prominent easterly inflection in its lee.
