Mission Bay is located on the western side of 400 m wide Riddell Point. The low energy bay contains two pocket beaches, both bordered and separated by mangroves. Beach K 105 is a 200 m long strip of high tide sand fronted by 500 m wide sand flats, while beach K 106 is 600 m long with similar sand flats, then fringing coral reefs off both sets of flats. Both beaches are backed by dune transgression generated by the southeast trades. The dunes extend 100 m inland of beach K 105, and up to 400 m in lee of beach K 106. An access road and a few houses are located at the western end of the bay.
