Beach K 80 is a 3.7 km long west-facing barrier island that forms the northern entrance to Kelk Creek, as well as the southern boundary of a neighbouring creek to the north. The beach consists of a high tide beach fronted by the extensive 1 km wide Kelk Creek tidal channel to the south, and a 200 m wide channel of the northern creek along its northern section, with intertidal sand shoals in between extending over 1 km into Pender Bay. Both vegetated and active low dunes extend up to 1.5 km inland and reach 22 m in height. They are backed by an inner vegetated transgressive dune ridge.
