To the north of the point is a 1 km long curving embayment containing beaches WA 1480 and 1481, divided by a usually blocked creek mouth (Fig. 4.337). Beach WA 1480 extends for 300 m between the southern point and the creek mouth. It is a steep reflective beach free of inshore rocks and reef, but with waves reduces by its northwest orientation and outer reefs. It is backed by a foredune, then the higher terrain. The creek meanders through the gentle backing slopes to the shore forming an elongate lagoon.
