Point Maud beach (WA 1516) commences at the tip of the point and gently curves to the northeast then north for 8.5 km, terminating in the lee of a 200 m long beachrock reef at Oyster Bridge. For the most part the beach is sheltered by the offshore reef and its northwest orientation, with waves averaging less than 0.5 m and reflective conditions prevailing, together with sand waves along the southern lowest energy section. Wave height begins to pick up to over 0.5 m towards the northern end, with a 50 m wide lagoon formed between the northern reef and shore. The beach is backed by transgressive dunes originating from Coral Bay along the southern 1.5 km, then the foredune ridge plain and salt lake, with the old Mauds Landing (Fig. 4.343) located at the beginning of the ridges and Cardabia Homestead located on the ridges 1 km in from the centre of the beach. The foredunes continue to 1 km south of Oyster Bridge where active and vegetated parabolics dominate the next 3 km to Bolman Hill.
Beach Length: 8.5km
