Beach WA 1496 commences on the southern side of foreland and curves gently to the north for 1.7 km terminating at the buffs, the backing foredune ridges narrow to the bluffs. The beach faces out into South Passage and wave height increases from 0.5 m in the south to 1 m in the north, where they break over inshore calcarenite reefs.
