The Lagoon is located at the northern end of the beachrock reef, which has produced a curving 600 m long beach (WA 1519) on its northern side. At the southern end it forms at very sheltered lagoon in lee of the reef, then as it trends north is fronted by discontinuous beachrock reef located 50-100 m offshore, with waves breaking over the reefs. It is backed by 20 m high vegetated dunes, with vehicle tracks to either end of the beach
