Alison Point is bounded by the southern beach WA 1488 and the northern beach WA 1489. Beach WA 1488 is backed by Upper Boolbarly Well. It commences at the end of the bluff-dominated beaches WA 1484-1487, and trends north as a sandy foreland terminating at a small gap-induced embayment 500 m south of the point. Fringing reefs parallel the beach 300 m offshore, with a lagoon between the reefs and shore. The southern half of the foreland is being actively transgressed by a series of transverse dunes, which along the eastern edge have climbed the boundary bluffline. They are overlapping an earlier transgressive system.
