Beach WA 1470 commences on the northern side of the sandy foreland and protrudes to the north for 3.5 km trending northeast into the next embayment. The shape of the beach is controlled by a shore parallel reef located 400 m off the shore. The bulk of the beach protrudes to its lee, with a calm lagoon between the two, while the northern embayment lies to the lee of a 500 m wide gap in the reefs. An active sand sheet with several transverse dunes backs most of the beach, extending 200-300 m inland to the base of 40 m high bluffs. The embayment forms the boundary between beaches WA 1470 and 1471, with low refracted ocean waves reaching the shore.
Beach Length: 3.5km
