The Three Mile Camp beach (WA 1463) commences immediately north of the camp, at the end of the bluffs. It trends north for 2 km as a slight protruding sandy beach located to the lee of a 100 m wide fringing coral reef which commences about 200 m up the beach, with a calmer lagoon between the reef edge and shore. There is a gap in the reef at the southern end of the beach, which permits low waves to reach the shore and is used to navigate small boats out through the reef. The beach is backed by an active sand sheet extending up to 300 m inland and reaching an inner 20 m high bluffline. The bluffline reaches the shore at the northern end of the beach and continues to the north.
Beach Length: 2km
General Hazard Rating: 3/10
