Buller River is a usually dry stream that reaches the shore 4 km north of Drummond Cove and 2 km west of the highway. The drowned river valley forms a slight embayment occupied by beach WA 1095, which curves for 800 m between boundary sandy forelands. Shore parallel reefs attach to the southern foreland and continue across the embayment resulting in low waves at the shore. The low waves and fine sand combine to maintain a reflective to low tide terrace beach. The small stream reaches the centre of the beach, with a vegetated dune to the south and an unstable dune to the north, which develops into a 1.5 km long northward migrating parabolic dune. A farmhouse is located on the northern side of the river mouth behind the foredune, with 4 WD tracks running though the dunes on both sides of the river.
