Beach WA 1097 continues to the north-northwest for the foreland for 4 km to the southern foreland of the Oakajee River mouth. This is a crenulate sandy beach with shore attached as well as a 500 m wide band of inshore and offshore reefs. Some of the inshore reefs appear to be coral formations Waves break across the scattered outer reefs and average about 0.5 m at the shore with reflective conditions dominating. The southern half of the beach is backed by a 1 km wide vegetated band of transgressive dunes, while an active parabolic originates from the northern half and extends northward for up to 1.5 km, with older vegetated dunes to the east and north. A few 4 WD track reach the shore and parallel the rear of the beach.
