The eastern beach section (RI 53) continues to curve to the northeast for another 650 m to the centre of the sandy foreland that forms the boundary with Stark Bay. This section of the beach is clear of inshore rocks, with seagrass meadows dominating the shallow bay floor, and rocks and reefs further out. Crayfish pots dot the bay and boats sometimes anchor off the beach. Both beaches form the northern side of the 150 m wide isthmus that links with cape area with the island. The cape road reaches the shore at the boundary between the two sections and continues along right behind the western beach.
