Patterson Beach (RI 20) continues to the west for another 400 m between bordering 20 m high calcarenite bluffs. It is backed by dunes rising to 40 m. All three beaches receive usually low wave to calm conditions, with seagrass growing to within 20 m of the shore. Dyer Island lies 500 m off the main beach.
