Porpoise Bay (RI 23) continues west of the beaches for 1 km, curving round towards the south. The beach is sheltered by offshore reefs with seagrass growing to the shore and its debris usually accumulating along the beach. The beach is backed by 10-20 m high vegetated bluffs, with the island road running along the top.
