Beach WA 1049 commences on the northern side of a 50 m long section of low calcarenite that forms a slight inflection in the shore. The beach trends north for 1.3 km to a 100 m long dune-draped calcarenite bluff. The northern end of the Gum Tree Bay parabolic backs the southern end of the beach, with several beachfront shacks between the shore and active dunes. Low waves, seagrass and reefs continue along the shore.
