Kangaroo Point extends north for 2 km and contains two beaches. Beach WA 960 is located on the southern tip and is a 400 m long southwest-facing sand beach fronted by continuous shallow calcarenite reefs and seagrass meadows, with seagrass debris commonly piled up on the beach. It has also prograded about 100 m seaward and is backed by four recurved foredune ridges.
