Thirsty Point beach (WA 964) extends from the southern tip of the foreland north for 700 m to a sandy inflection (Fig. 4.237). The beach faces west across a shallow sandy seabed, with reefs located several hundred metres offshore, which result in low wave to calm conditions at the shore. The beach is backed by a wide reserve containing a series of low vegetated foredune ridges, with car parks located at either end of the beach. This is one of the two main swimming beaches for the town.
