Beach 944 is located below the 3-5 m high calcarenite bluffs that extend north of Flat Rock beach (WA 943). The 300 m long beach consists of a narrow strip of high tide sand fronted by a near continuous 50 m wide intertidal calcarenite reef, with inner reefs extending 500 m off the beach, and outer reefs 2-3 km offshore. Waves are low to calm at the shore.
