Island Point beach (WA 973) is a 900 m long northwest-facing beach located to the lee of 1 km long Boullanger Island. The protection afforded by the island has permitted considerable sand to accumulate in its lee, which extends to the shore as a shallow sandy seafloor and sand flats, crossed by shore transverse sandy ridges. Low vegetated foredune ridges back the beach, with vehicle access and car parks to either end. The beach is a designated fishing, swimming and sailing area.
