Beach WA 972 commences on the northern side of the foreland and curves to the north then northwest for 4 km to the tip of Island Point (Fig. 4.239). A 2 km long parabolic dune commences at the southern foreland, with the small shack settlement of Booka Valley, located between the active dune and the beach 1 km north of the foreland. The remainder of the beach is backed by a series of up to 30 curving foredune ridges that are part of the 6 km long foreland complex. As the beach turns to faces the southwest wave height increases slightly, with reflective to low tide terrace conditions along the northern foreland section. A gravel road from Jurien reaches the tip of the foreland providing access to the northern end.
