Beach WA 976 is located between the second groyne and the southern harbour breakwater that extends 200 m seaward. Both these beaches receive slightly higher waves and at times have a low tide terrace, which is cut by small rips during and following periods of higher waves. They are both backed by a wide dune reserve, then one of the newer residential developments.
Jurien Harbour consists of two main attached breakwaters, two smaller inner groynes designed to prevent sand moving into the harbour (Fig. 4.242) and the rectangular-shaped harbour which contains jetties and fish processing facilitie
