Beach K 231 is located on the southwestern shore of the island and faces southwest into the mouth of Coppermine Creek. The high tide beach occupies a 100 m wide curving gap in the wooded 60 m high slopes, widening to 200 m at low tide outside the gap, where it is fronted by 100 m wide sand to reef flats.
