Silica Beach (K 223) lies 1 km to the east and is an unusual 150 m long beach, composed of pure white silica sand, the only such beach on the entire Kimberley coast. As a result it attracts more attention and visitors than most beaches, and is used for day visits and occasional camping. It is backed by a partially active foredune rising to 3-4 m and vegetated by clumpy Triodia pungens (Soft Spinifex), then 20 m high bedrock slopes. The white sand slopes offshore between the bordering headlands to deeper rock reefs, permitting easy small boat access, particularly at mid to high tide.
Beach Length: 0.15km
