Beaches K 249 and 250 are located in the first bay south of Sanders Point, a 500 m wide east-facing semicircular-shaped bay. The two 50 m long pockets of intertidal sand are wedged into gullies in the steep 100 m high slopes. They are fronted by continuous 300 m wide mud flats, and an outer 100 m wide fringing reef that links the boundary headlands.
