The beachrock is located just off the mouth of a dry sandy creek, which drains a 2 km long shore parallel salt lake. The Mesa Camp car park and camping area is located on the southern side of the creek mouth, which is also a popular spot for launching small boats, which can reach the deeper reef water via the Neds Camp channel.
