Beach WA 1554 extends north of the 100 m wide creek mouth for 3.7 km. It trends north-northeast as a crenulate sandy beach, with the crenulations induced by both patches of beachrock and fringing reef and a 500 m wide gap in the reefs. A foredune backs the southern end and widens to the north where it becomes unstable with a 1 km long section of shore-parallel active dunes extending north behind beach WA 1555. The gravel Yardie Creek road parallels the rear of the dunes.
