Beach WA 1553 extends south of creek mouth for 700 m, to the northern end of the eroded beachrock section. It is paralleled by an intertidal beachrock reef, then the 2.5 km wide lagoon, which extends out to a broken section of the fringing reef. There are a range of surfing breaks out in the gaps in the reef, and which require a boat to reach. A degraded foredune area backs the beach, then the Ningaloo track and the lower slopes of the range. Formal campsites are located on either side of the creek mouth and 1 km south behind Boat Harbour.
