The beach is sheltered by ridged sand flats, then the fringing Bundegi Reef, which extends 1 km offshore. Scattered mangroves grow along the base of northern calcarenite bluffs and in the northern corner of the beach. A low foredune, then elongate salt lake backs the beach.
