Beach WA 1622 forms the southernmost part of the spit system. It consists of a 1.5 km long series of irregular recurved spits that have been formed as sand has been episodically moved along the shore, possibly during tropical cyclone activity. The sand flats transform to tidal flats and widen to 1 km at the entrance to the Bay of Rest. The southern 1 km of the spit is embedded in mangroves. A 4 WD track runs down the spine on the low spit to the mangroves.
