Beach WA 1620 commences on the southern side of the 50 m wide creek mouth and curves to the south then southeast for 4 km to low sandy Heron Point (Fig. 4.363). One hundred metre wide sand flats parallel the beach, together with the southern most patches of the fringing reef in the gulf. There are vehicle tracks across the backing salt flats to both ends of the beach including the point area. Beach WA 1621 continues to curve south of the point for 2.5 km. This is a slightly crenulate and increasingly low energy beach, which is part of a transition to the mangrove-lined shore to the south. It is backed by a low foredune, then the salt flats, with vehicle access to either end.
Beach Length: 2.5km
