. Beach WA 1583 occupies the northern west-facing shore of the bay and receive some low waves which maintain a slightly curving 600 m long beach fronted by fringing reefs which fill the northern half of the bay. It is backed by a low 100-200 m wide series of foredune ridges, with the access road running along the crest of the ridges to the beach. A small mangrove-lined calcarenite point forms its northern boundary and entrance to the bay. A bird observation hide is located on the point.
