Beach WA 1589 extends north of the low bluffs for 1.8 km as a curving protruding beach that terminates at the usually blocked mouth of Tantabiddi Creek (Fig. 4.354). Fringing reef parallels the beach and extends up to 500 m offshore. The beach is backed by some areas of unstable dunes in the south, then a 100 m wide foredune ridge plain, backed by a deflation basin. The Yardie Creek road parallels the rear of the beach 300-400 m inland, with a 4 WD track reaching the southern end of the beach.
